THE
FIREFLIES

Symphonic pop. Studio trickery. Three-part harmonies. And absolutely no reason to take any of it too seriously.

From the strange side of the seventies.

The Fireflies emerged in 1975 when members of 2x4 joined what remained of Flying Saucer. The result was a band obsessed with melody, orchestration, vocal harmonies and seeing just how much could be squeezed into a pop song.

The Fireflies sound

Big strings. Electric guitars. Mellotron and Moog. Clever rhythms. Dry humour. And songs that can wander for six minutes without entirely losing the plot.
